アラスカ:2007年夏

今、朝の4時。外は小雨混じり。肌寒い旅立ちになりそうだ。

8時前にガレージを出発。ベリングハムまでI-5で北上し、州道542と９を乗り継ぎカナダ国境へ。イミグレでは、「このバイクはどうしたのか」と尋ねられたので、「シアトルで買った」と返答。

カナダに入りトランスカナダ1号線に乗り東、北へ。道中雨が降り続き視界が悪い。気温も５０F程度とかなり寒い。後半は、電熱ベストを着用。

１００マイルハウスのモーテルに投宿（５９ドル）。

It is 4AM and light rain. It would be a chilly kicking of the long ride.

Just before 8AM, the long ride began. Riding up on Interstate 5 until Bellingham, taking State highway 542 and 9 and reaching the Canadian border around noon. An immigration officer asked me of motorcycle. My answer was the recent purchase in Seattle. Taking TransCanada 1, moving east and north. Nasty rain continued with low temperature around 50F with the necessity of electronic best on. Ending up at 100 Mile House (C$59).
